How to manage extension policy in Ulaa?

Extension policy allows organizations to control access to extensions. Administrators can block specific extensions for all users. But, they can also create exceptions to allow access to certain extensions. Exceptions can be set based on modes, which means blocking in general but allowing access in specific modes. Please note that if an extension is already blocked, adding it as an exception will require removing it from the blocked extensions list.

To block extensions

  1. Open Ulaa's official website.
  2. Go to Dashboard > Extension Policy.
  3. Select the 'Blocked List' menu.
  4. Click 'Add'.
  5. Choose the appropriate modes from the drop-down menu.
  6. Enter the extension ID and Extension name you wish to block.
  7. Click 'Add' to confirm and save the changes.

To add exceptions

  1. Open Ulaa's official website.
  2. Go to Dashboard > Extension Policy.
  3. Select the 'Exceptions' menu.
  4. Click 'Add'.
  5. Choose the appropriate modes from the drop-down menu.
  6. Enter the extension ID and Extension name you wish to add as exception.
  7. Click 'Add' to confirm and save the changes.

To edit  

  1. Click on the three dots in the right corner.
  2. In the drop-down menu, select the 'Edit' option.
  3. A box will appear with editable fields.
  4. Add or remove modes as desired.
  5. Edit the ID and name of the extension in the respective field.
  6. Review the changes you made to ensure they are accurate.
  7. Click 'Edit' to save the changes.

To delete

  1. Click on the three dots in the right corner.
  2. In the drop-down menu, select the 'Delete' option.
  3. A confirmation dialog box will appear, asking if you are sure about removing the extension.
  4. Click Delete extension.

To enable or disable an extension 

To enable or disable an extension, you can utilize the toggle switch.

How to get the extension ID?

To obtain the extension ID of an extension, follow the steps mentioned below.
 
1. Open your web browser and navigate to the extension page- for example, JSON Formatter.
2. Locate the URL in the address bar of your browser.
3. Examine the URL carefully and search for a 32-digit alphanumeric code as it is the unique extension ID.
4. It is typically positioned after the text "extensiondetail/" in the URL.
