Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology is often used by streaming websites (such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) to block or limit access to content that is copyright protected. To view this content, Ulaa must have Widevine component enabled.
What is DRM?
DRM software can occasionally be run as a browser extension. It is used to regulate the use, modification, and distribution of copyrighted materials, particularly audio and video.
What is Widevine?
Widevine CDM (Content Decryption Module) is a DRM component used in desktop and mobile browsers based on Chromium. The playback of DRM-protected video content can be enabled, decoded, or decrypted using it. Many websites utilise it as a browser extension to load their audio or video.
How to disable/enable Widevine in Ulaa?
Widevine is enabled by default.
Click the Menu at the top right.
Click on Preferences.
Click Browser Settings > System.
Click on the Widevine toggle to alter the widevine status.
Once it has been enabled, Widevine's installation typically takes a minute and you are set to see or play DRM-protected content.
Visit ulaa://components to check your browser's Widevine component version.
