Remove unwanted pop-ups, ads and malware


This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process of removing pop-ups, ads, and malware from your browser. These intrusive elements can disrupt your browsing experience, compromise your privacy, and potentially harm your device. By following these instructions, you can effectively eliminate these unwanted elements and enhance your browser's security. 
  1. Persistent pop-up ads and new tabs that cannot be closed
  2. Your Chrome homepage or search engine is being altered without your consent
  3. Unwanted Chrome extensions or toolbars that repeatedly reappear
  4. Your browsing is being hijacked, resulting in redirects to unfamiliar pages or ads
  5. Notifications warning of a virus or an infected device

Change ads permissions

  1. At the top right, click Menu
  2. Select Preferences > Privacy and Security > Site settings > Additional content settings > Ads.  
  3. Select the option of your choice. 

Remove unwanted apps from Mac

  1. Open Finder and select Applications from the left. 
  2. Select the programs that you have not used for a long time
  3. Move it to trash and empty the trash. 

Reset browser settings

  1. At the top right, click Menu. 

  2. Select Preferences > Reset settings.

  3. Select Restore Settings to their original defaults > Reset settings.
